PanSupport – dedicated cancer support for you
Since 2011, the Pancare Foundation have been committed to inspiring hope, raising awareness, supporting families and funding research for upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancers.
PanSupport is our dedicated support, resource and information service that is available to all families impacted by pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers. Our friendly team are dedicated specialists in upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancer care and are available to support you and your family in a variety of ways on your cancer journey. From coping with a diagnosis, understanding your treatment options, managing symptoms to nurturing your emotional health, the PanSupport team offers practical ways to help you.
Specialist support services and information available
Whether you need to talk to a specialist nurse, find dedicated information on living with cancer or connect with others at our support groups, all of our services are available complimentary to you and your family.
PanSupport Helpline
Our PanSupport Helpline enables both patients living with cancer and their carers to speak with our Specialist Upper GI Cancer Nurses who can help you understand your diagnosis or treatment options, provide you with resources and information, or connect you with our Counsellors or Cancer Care Navigator for additional support.
Cancer information
Access specialist information on living with pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary or oesophageal cancers – including how cancer is diagnosed, treatment options, managing symptoms, diet and nutrition and information on how to access clinical trials.
Support groups
Cancer support groups are forums for people affected by upper GI cancer to come together in a supportive environment to share their lived experience. Our support groups meet in a variety of ways, both in-person and online, and can provide you with the opportunity to talk about your experience.
Financial assistance
PanSupport’s Financial Assistance Program supports eligible patients, carers and families experiencing financial difficulties and can help cover common costs such as medical equipment, bills and specialist services like physiotherapy and dietetics.
Counselling support
Our PanSupport Counsellor is available for 45-minute counselling sessions and can help patients and carers alike in processing the emotional challenges of living with cancer. Our qualified counsellor can help you cope with a diagnosis, support you in caring for loved ones and assist you through the grief of the cancer experience.
Living with cancer
Although the impact of cancer is profound, there are ways that you can support your emotional and physical wellbeing. Discover how to work with your medical care team, support your physical health through diet and exercise as well as nurture your emotional wellbeing.
Advanced cancer care
Considering end-of-life care can be particularly difficult or upsetting. We aim to support you by presenting a variety of information to empower you in making decisions that are right for you and your family, such as the type of healthcare you may prefer when the time comes.
