Pancare bowls them over at Bowls Victoria Awards Night
Bowls Victoria, who are wonderful supporters of Pancare, recently celebrated their Awards Night, with the event taking place during State Champions Week in Bendigo with Pancare playing a role on the big night! We were thrilled to be chosen to present the Best Female and Male awards for 2020 in front of a full house and everyone in the room became part of a history making ceremony, with the first ever females being inducted into the BV Hall of Fame!
A team from Pancare made the trip to Bendigo from Melbourne to participate in this wonderful event and during the evening Pancare CEO, Doug Hawkins, took to the stage and presented to a captive and attentive audience, discussing the current state of upper gastrointestinal cancer in Australia and providing an overview of Pancare’s important work in patient support, research and awareness.
The hotly contested awards followed the Hall of Fame presentation, and Doug was honoured to present the awards for Best male and female bowlers of the year Jay Bye-Norris & Anne Draffen. It was so pleasing to see the camaraderie around the room, old friends catching up post-COVID, and new friends being made.
With over 50,000 members across 520 bowling clubs, Bowls Victoria are a key partner in Pancare’s mission to raise awareness of the cancers we support and we look forward to an ongoing, meaningful partnership and are so very grateful for Bowls Victoria’s enthusiasm in their support and look forward to the next engagement!
